ZVOX Z-Base 550 The $500 ZVOX Z-Base 550 pictured to the right was designed to act as
a base platform for flat panel televisions with diagonal screen sizes of up to 50 inches. It dramatically improves upon
the sound quality of built-in TV speakers in rooms where it's
difficult or impossible to install a full-blown 5.1 surround
sound audio system. Only three inches thick, it virtually
disappears sitting atop your TV stand, sandwiched underneath the pedestal base of your television.
Less Wire? The ZVOX Z-Base 550 incorporates proprietary PhaseCue
virtual surround sound technology to create a very wide,
three-dimensional sound stage without requiring you to purchase and wire five separate speakers plus a subwoofer, or even a home theater receiver! All five speakers and the subwoofer are integrated
into a single speaker cabinet along with the sound processing technology and amplification to
power them. If you want more bass than you get from the
ZVOX Z-Base 550, it's got a subwoofer output, so you could
connect an OPTIONAL wireless powered subwoofer.
