Yamaha YSP-1000 The
revolutionary $1500 Yamaha YSP-1000 Digital Sound Projector pictured
to the right features unique digital projection technology to
control the orientation of the sound. By focusing the
sound into "beams" and controlling the speaker delay times, the
listener perceives the sounds to be coming from additional
speakers placed throughout the room, when in fact there is only
the Yamaha Digital Sound Projector.
Like the original YSP-1, the
YSP-1000 features 40 tiny, individually driven speaker drivers measuring
just 1-5/8 inches in diameter, along with two 4-3/8
inch woofer drivers mounted in a single speaker cabinet. The
Five-Beam
setting provides five
of your six surround sound channels--L , R, C, Ls and Rs-- each are given
separate orientations. Sound is beamed off the walls to create the effect
of a surround system with rear speakers. You'll need to add your own
separate powered
subwoofer to produce low frequency bass effects, the .1 LFE channel of 5.1
digital surround.
The YSP1000 is ideal for
installation by wall mounting it directly below for medium and
larger screen size plasma and LCD flat panel displays using
the
optional Yamaha SPMK1 wall mount bracket pictured below.
